Charitable Giving
ThompsonGas employees have long been active in their communities and have received formal company support for almost two decades. Each year, employees donate hundreds of hours of time and their skills to support a variety of programs. Concern for children and families is a priority of our volunteers. Employees also organize and lead community projects to meet specific local needs. For the past two years, employees have identified local parks and educational facilities in 8 states that are in need of repairs and refurbishing. With materials purchased by the company, volunteers have built outdoor classrooms and nature trails, created outdoor learning gardens and urban tree gardens, and completed other projects that enhance environmental educational opportunities.
Employees also have adopted local schools, where activities include coaching, mentoring and tutoring, painting classrooms and helping the PTA.
Local Projects
Each year, employees support an array of local projects, such as home repairs for the elderly through Rebuilding Together through Christmas in April, Habitat for Humanity, mentoring programs through Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and Walks to raise awareness and funds for many health research organizations. Employee teams at virtually every company location evaluate requests from community organizations and determine which projects to support.
